Hayastan Grappling Challenge Rules Video
We use a Hayastan Submission Grappling Rule System which is quite different than many rule systems presently in use with other organizations. We get great reviews about our rules from almost everyone who competes in our circuit. We train our refs and make sure that safety is their main priority. UNIFORM: Gi Divisions(Not all tournament locations offer Gi Divisions) All Gi competitors must wear a full Gi includind jacket, pants, and belt. no short sleeve jackets will be allowed. no shorts allowed in Gi divisions. No wrestling shoes allowed in gi divisions. NoGi Divisions NoGi competitors may wear gi pants, gi shorts, MMA fight shorts, Grappling shorts, or acceptable gym shorts (referree discretion). All pants and shorts must be free of pockets, metal or hard plastic. Cargo shorts or any other street cloths will not be allowed. Competitors may compete with no shirt (Male only), tshirt, or rashguard. Wrestling shoes are allowed in nogi divisions. Round 1. Three minute round WITH NO POINTS.
Gi Single Elimination for all gi brackets. NoGi Modified Double Elimination for brackets with over 5 competitors. (This means if you win through the bracket and meet someone, that you have defeated before, for the second time you do not have to defeat them again.) True Double Elimination for brackets with 5 or under competitors. (This means that every competitor has to be defeated twice in a match to be eliminated from competition without exception. In this case you may have to face the same person twice even though you have defeated them previously. As well if you have been defeated by someone and meet them again, you may have to defeat them in two seperate matches to eliminate them from the bracket.) -Neutral position is considered either person standing both on knees, or the guard position -No Heel Hooks in Kid's Divisions. We allow many more submissions than almost any other tournament due to the fact that we have a heavy representation from all grappling styles. Wrestlers, Sambo players, BJJ artists, Judo players, etc all fight differently and we accomodate those differences. We do not try to tell any fighter how to fight his game and are only making illegal the things that state comminssions and insurance companies mandate. -Unsportsmanlike conduct (Referee's discretion)
